We are a family run and operated business based out of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina that is dedicated to providing our customers with friendly, reliable and knowledgeable service. Your satisfaction is our priority and we strive to provide a service we are proud of. Our company pays special attention to the details of every project to ensure the complete satisfaction of each client. Our goal is to enhance the exterior of your home, raise your property value, and beautify your whole neighborhood.
Our Story
New Day was founded on the Outer Banks in 2007 by John Shelton. John has always had an interest in the outdoors. This interest led John to become an Eagle Scout and later to Virginia Tech were he received a bachelors degree in Horticulture. Upon graduating he moved to the Outer Banks and shortly after started New Day Landscapes, Pools and Spas. John's prior experience includes work in public gardens and with residential and commercial landscaping. He is also a Certified Pool-Spa Operator with over 10 years of experience in pool and spa service.
John and his wife, Niki, love living on the Outer Banks and have their hands full raising 5 children, 4 boys - Shaiden age 11, Sawyer and Silas age 9, Sterling age 4 and their baby girl, Sloane age 2. When not at work, you'll find John and his family enjoying all the Outer Banks has to offer, especially the beach in the summer.
Our Team
John Shelton
John has a bachelors degree in Horticulture from Virginia Tech with a specialty in Landscape Design and Construction. This background, as well as his years of in the field experience, allows him to work with our customers to provide them with the landscape design that best meets their specific needs and desires. John has interned at the Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo and shares his experience with his lawn care crew to provide the best in lawn care service. John is a licensed pesticide applicator in NC and also a Certified Pool-Spa Operator with over 12 years of experience in pool and spa service.
Tony Stabile
Tony works closely with John on landscape installation and heads up the landscaping team. When not landscaping, Tony holds his own as a superior chef.
Seth McSpadden
Seth is our lawn care foreman and leads up our lawn care service crew. He has several years of experience in the lawn care field and keeps our properties looking their best.
Mark Shelton
Mark is a licensed Pool-Spa Operator with over 10 years of in the field experience. He is our lead pool technician and helps with our landscaping in the offseason
